I Owe My Son $10 Bucks

So about a week or so ago, Jonathan asked me if he could go to a “Swing Dance thing” with his friends. After a very confused pause I said … “suuuure … are you going to dance?”. He grumbled something unintelligible, which I assume had something to do with pigs flying and the freezing over of hades. In any case, I told him that I would give 10,000 Mongolian Tugrigs (that’s about 10 bucks working in my favor) if he would dance, get pictures and allow me to post them on our website for all the world to see.

Well, Jonathan will do nearly anything for money. Or food. If there is enough of either at stake. So here are the pictures of Jonathan doing some dancing. With girls. The look on his face is worth the 10,000 … priceless, really.

Signs, Signs, Everywhere a Sign

After a lot of running around and hassle - and a little help from a friend - we have the sign up at our new student center. People constantly ask what it is that we are doing here. Several have wanted to know if we are opening a bar or a pub. I tell them, “no - just the opposite. We are opening a place for young people to come and study, drink tea or coffee, and hang out with friends.”

It’s called the “Grain of Wheat Student Center”

We now have a lighted sign to let people know who we are.

There will be a quiet opening this Friday, as we finish up repairs and work on operating procedures as well as work out the kinks.

We will hopefully have a grand opening on December 5th.

Remember Yak Polo

We’ve had some GREAT Yak Polo Around the World additions over the past months. If you haven’t recently, check out the gallery. From the Dead Sea to Reno, Nevada; from Mammoth Cave, Kentucky to Red Square in Moscow - Yak Polo is truly going world wide!

If you don’t have your shirt, it’s not too late. Click the link on the right to order yours today. Then get out, get your picture taken in all the places you travel, and we’ll post them in the YPATW gallery!

(note: we still need a shot from ‘down under’ - Australia and Antarctica - to say we’ve been on every continent. Also, now that we have a picture from the lowest point on earth, if any one ever takes on Everest … let us know. We’ll send you a free shirt.)

(As of this post, the remembermongolia.org photo album is not working. I am tracking this down and will hopefully have it fixed over the next few days. In the meantime, feel free to visit our Flickr photo stream to see all of our pictures!)

Update: Our Photo Gallery is fixed! You can view pictures directly from our site.
