Hey Darlena! I trust all of the Foxes are well! Great to hear from you.

Actually no... that is a Golden Eage. Way out in western Mongolia the Khazik people use Golden Eagles to hunt ... wolves and fox and other animals. It sounds like something to watch! You can go there and they will give you live demonstrations of this. That's another trip for another time that i would like to make...

Pastor Bernie
Wow! What a trip. I have enjoyed your journal writings and photos. Was that a buzzard on the back of a dog in one of your pictures? I do keep up with you all I sorry this is the first time that I'm writing. I really need to sit down and write a note to you and Renee. When you get to be a grandmother (Jarod and Melissa are exprecting in Nov.) you lose all track of time. It's great to read about Jonathan's experience at LIFE. I remember when Jarod went. I'm hoping Emily will go in three years. It didn't work out this time. I will write to you all soon.

[...] 44 And Jesus cried out and said, “Whoever believes in me, believes not in me but in him who sent me. 45 And whoever sees me sees him who sent me. 46 I have come into the world as light, so that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness. 47 If anyone hears my words and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world. 48 The one who rejects me and does not receive my words has a judge; the word that I have spoken will judge him on the last day. 49 For I have not spoken on my own authority, but the Father who sent me has himself given me a commandment—what to say and what to speak. 50 And I know that his commandment is eternal life. What I say, therefore, I say as the Father has told me.”';(This is my final entry. Day five of my little excursion into Mongolia’s wild countryside. If you are just picking up this up now, I suggest that you go back to Day 1. That way you can read all of the fun and excitement that led up to the final day…) [...]

Its wonderful having your family here. I would like to see what your last couple of days from your trip was like. I think I would feel real small in Mongolia. It all seems so BIG! Some of your photos are really esxra good and I can tell you were thinking about composition and foreground and background of the photo instead of just snapping away. Good job on the photo work. I also like hearing what you are learning of the people and culture.

Tim - I must say that I thought of you several times on this trip. If you and Joel would come visit me - we could do some crazy stuff! Mountain climbing, distance hiking, yak tipping - we'd do it all! :) It would take IKSPLORE to a whole new level! Glad you liked the photos and the commentary. There is more to come. Take care of my wife and kids for me while they're at the Vogelaar abode...

Bernie! Fabulous! You're like a living, walking, breathing, National Geographic. The pictures and journal enties are outstanding. This is really cool stuff you have shared with us here. You are so fortunate to be able to experience this. Wow. I'm jealous. What an interesting trip mixing culture and nature. Your photos really show the vastness and openess of the land. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Hi Bernie,
The pictures and your commentary are really great. Renee will be at church tonight with cori & Jonathan to relate this first year in Mongolia. We trust god will further enable your family to master the language and "survial" skills in the culture.
In Him,
Bill & Nancy
